Jewelry Design & Metalwork

One of our most popular arts workshops, jewelry design and metalworking is a skill all participants enjoy learning. Beads and semi-precious stones in a wide range of colors, shapes and sizes of materials are provided at each workshop for increased creativity, self-expression and individuality of design. Participants learn how to make earrings, necklaces, bracelets, belts, rings, hairpieces and learn about symbols and design principles.  Participants work with brass, sterling silver and copper. Coupled with specific artistic techniques, pieces made in this workshop are made to last.

In addition, each workshop incorporates learning tools such as relevant books, newspaper and magazine advertisements and articles to enhance knowledge of the history and current
events of the item being made. Advanced tools are demonstrated at each class to be tried by the participants with the help of an expert.

At the culmination of the Jewelry workshop series, an exhibition in connection with a Feel the Music! concert event is held, and select pieces created by participants may be made available for sale.
