Jude Ornstein

Jude Ornstein is a psychoanalyst, visual artist and art therapist. She has worked for over 20 years with families, teenagers and children in a variety of community mental health and arts settings. Her experience as both an artist and therapist has repeatedly confirmed that engaging in creative arts contributes greatly to ones mental health and physical well being. Through the journey of developing expression and techniques over time, and allowing the unfolding of ones creative, imaginative processes benefits inevitably come. This appears universal, spanning across cultures and regardless of level of experience or talent. Some of these benefits include increasing ones sense of concentration, developing a greater sense of freedom and flexibility in expression, and deepening ones emotional strengths and insight, among others.

At Feel the Music! Jude has used her expertise with a wide range of art materials to help families and individuals find new ways to connect to themselves and one another, to better understand, express and communicate what is most meaningful to each member. She has exhibited her own art and maintains a private psychotherapy practice in New York City.

Jude received her Bachelors of Fine Arts in 1985, her Masters of Science in Art Therapy in 1991, and a certificate in Psychoanalysis in 2004.
