"Tree in Bloom"

A mural painted by 9/11 families in the Feel the Music! mural project will be unveiled at Tribute WTC Visitor Center on August 18th, 2011.

The painting, titled “Tree in Bloom”, is one of ten murals created by 9/11 families in Feel the Music!, between October 2010 & July 2011. The murals are intended to be reflective of the journey of the thousands of individuals impacted by 9/11. To give an idea of its size, “Tree in Bloom” measures 56” x 46”.

The painting will be on display at Tribute WTC Visitor Center, 120 Liberty Street, NYC 10007, from August 18th, 2011, through the week of September 26, 2011.

“The simple grace and evocative beauty of ‘Tree in Bloom’ is stunning”, said Feel the Music! Founder/Executive Director Valerie Ghent. “A true collaborative effort, from start to finish, with all the family members working together to create a moving expression of their journey.” A family member who worked on the painting said, “It was wonderful to create something that was so meaningful to us and that reflects what we have learned in Feel the Music!, both artistically and as a group.”
