In keeping with our mission of providing a space for creative expression, Feel the Music! has launched the Mural Project, a nine-month visual art project to create a group of murals commemorative of the upcoming 10th anniversary of September 11th. Feel the Music! brings songwriting workshops to the Lenox Hill Senior Center at St. Peter’s Church with renowned songwriting instructors Ina May Wool and Thomas Boyd. This free songwriting workshop series starts Monday, Sept 13th and runs for 12 Mondays through November 29th. See dates below for specifics. Classes are held 10:45am-11:45am each week and culminate in a public concert on December 13th at 1pm.
(July 12, 2010, New York, NY) This August NYC nonprofit Feel the Music! will go to Belfast, Northern Ireland, to bring music and healing to 75 teens from around the world who have lost a family member in a terrorist act. For the first time, Feel the Music! will offer music programming overseas, through an ongoing collaboration with Project Common Bond, a weeklong summer camp started by 9/11 partner organization, Tuesdayâ€™s Children.

In 2009, the 9/11 School Recovery Program published, “How We Healed”, a review of the many programs and people who came together to assist lower Manhattan schools, students, teachers and social workers after September 11th. Feel the Music! was honored to be able to provide after-school workshops in percussion and songwriting to students in several schools
February 27, 2009, We are absolutely overjoyed that Archbishop Riordan High School has chosen Feel the Music! to be the beneficiary of proceeds raised at performances of “Back to the 80’s…the Totally Awesome Musical!”.
The frog project continues! Feel the Music! families hand-painted a second batch of percussion frogs and we sent them to an army hospital in Iraq. These hand painted “Feel the Music!” frogs provided much needed moments of joy to dozens of soldiers. What brought tears to our eyes was learning the soldiers, once out of the hospital, are giving their frogs to Iraqi children.
